The American nu metal band, Powerman 5000 are out with their newest single entitled, “Sid Vicious In A Dress” released via Pavement Music. The song serves as the lead single for the bands upcoming 9th studio album, “New Wave” which is due Oct. 27 via Pavement Music.
Formed in 1991 and led by vocalist Spider (aka Michael Cummings, also known as Spider One or MC Spider, the younger brother of Rob Zombie), the Boston-based underground electro-metal band Powerman 5000 earned a popular cult following along the East Coast with the release of their 1994 indie debut album, “True Force”, and 1995's The Blood Splat Rating System, the latter of which appeared on Conscience Records. Two years later, the band moved to Dreamworks (and relocated to Los Angeles), where they released a revamped version of their debut as Mega!! Kung Fu Radio. They have released eight albums over the course of their career and gained their highest commercial success with 1999's “Tonight the Stars Revolt!”, which reached No. 29 on the Billboard 200 album chart while spawning the top 40 hits "When Worlds Collide" and "Nobody's Real".
