Deftones
Feb 14, 2016
"Prayers/Triangles" is the latest single from the Sacramento-based rock band, Deftones. It will be on the group's upcoming eighth album, "Gore" set for release on April 8th via Warner Brothers. This new collection marks the band's first studio recordings since 2012's "Koi No Yokan."
When asked about the single, Deftones front-man Chino Moreno explains, "It's one of those songs that's very Deftones-esque. That dynamic is there as far as that ebb and flow, those parts that go at your throat, but it also has a soothing quality to it. That dichotomy I think is what makes us who we are - it's sort of our DNA. It's a good representation of where we're at."
Deftones were founded in 1988 and the band consists of Chino Moreno (lead vocals & rhythm guitar), Stephen Carpenter (lead guitar), Frank Delgado (keyboards & turntables), Abe Cunningham (drums & percussion) and Sergio Vega (bass). They have released seven albums, with three platinum ("Adrenaline", "Around the Fur", "White Pony") and one gold certification (for "Deftones").
The band is scheduled to hit the road this spring and summer as well, starting with an appearance at the Musink Festival in Costa Mesa, California on March 5th.
