“Glorious” is the fresh new single to surface from Macklemore as a solo effort. The song features guest vocals from Skylar Grey and is set to appear on his upcoming untitled album. Production on the track was done by Josh "Budo" Karp and Tyler Dopps and released through Warner Bros.
"Glorious" is undoubtedly an uplifting “seize the day” type anthem. The song is energizing with it’s fast paced percussion and piano loop.
In the song Macklemore sings, “We posted on the porch, my family's glasses to the stars/ My grandma smiling down on me like woo, that boy got bars."
This project will be the first solo album Macklemore has recorded since his 2005 LP “The Language of My World”. Aside from his solo efforts, Macklemore has been widely recognized for the work he has done with producer, Ryan Lewis. In 2012, they released their groundbreaking album “The Heist”, which spawned the very successful single entitled, “Thrift Shop”. That song reached at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2013. Their second single entitled, "Can't Hold Us" peaked at number one on the Hot 200 Chart, making Macklemore and Lewis the first duo in the chart's history to have their first two singles both reach the peak position. The duo won four Grammy Awards at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, including “Best New Artist”, “Best Rap Album” (The Heist), “Best Rap Song” and “Best Rap Performance” ("Thrift Shop").
