Lonnie

Born in Orange County, California, Lonnie’s family bounced around the state before he later made Los Angeles his official home. Growing up, he spent most of the time with his sisters, since his mother and father were always busy working. “My one sister loved music,” he remembers, “so she had me listening to musicals, Frank Sinatra, Jazz, Classical, and even Hip-Hop. My ears were exposed to a wide variety of stuff very early.”
Eventually, the kids would play around singing karaoke at home, though by the time he reached school Lonnie quickly auditioned for talent shows. “I was always performing,” he adds. “One time, we were all in the school cafeteria and I just got up and started singing and dancing. I was that type of kid.”
He joined the school choir and performed in talent shows from first grade up until his senior year of high school. He recorded some rough tracks in school, landing his first studio time, where he eventually perfected his singing, rapping, and also dancing. He grew a significant TikTok following, where his popularity started buzzing even more. “I wouldn’t say I was a TikTok artist, but the platform definitely built my reach like crazy,” he says.
Once the timing was right, his sister introduced him to one of her music industry connections, DJ/Producer AYO. “I played AYO some of my music and the sound I was going for and he told me to keep going with it,” Lonnie continues. “After that I was more focused to bring the sound that I wanted to make and everything started going crazy.” He then signed with the legendary Vincent Herbert’s MUSE.
While this is just the start of things, Lonnie is playing the long game and is here to stay. “I know I’m going to be one of the biggest artists out, and that’s not me trying to boast,” he humbly advises. “I do this for the fun and for the love, not for the money. My goal with my music is to make people feel something.”
