Cher Lloyd rose to fame when she finished fourth in the seventh series of The X Factor. Shortly afterwards, Lloyd was signed by Simon Cowell to Sony Music subsidiary Syco Music. Cher Lloyd's debut single "Swagger Jagger" was released in June 2011. Despite receiving negative reviews, the single entered at number one on the UK Singles Chart and number two on the Irish Singles Chart. Her second single "With Ur Love" was released October 31st, featuring Mike Posner, and peaked at number four in the UK, and number five in Ireland, preceding her debut album Sticks + Stones, which peaked at number four in the UK Albums Chart and number seven on the Irish Albums Chart. She debuted her third single "Want U Back" on May 22nd in the US and achieved Platinum status for selling over 1,000,000 copies.
"With Ur Love" is taken from Cher's debut studio album Sticks + Stones. It was released on October 29, 2011 as the second single taken from the album. The song features guest vocals by American singer Mike Posner. It was written by Shellback, Savan Kotecha, Max Martin and Mike Posner, and it was produced by Shellback. Musically "With Ur Love" is a mid-tempo song, with elements of bubblegum and R&B. Its lyrics talk about the euphoria of being in love. The song debuted at number four in the United Kingdom, becoming Lloyd's second top ten single.
A version not featuring Mike Posner was released on iTunes in the US on August 28, 2012. Lloyd confirmed that the song would be next US single on The Today Show on August 30, 2012, prior to a live performance, but her label decided to keep the song just as the "Promotional Single" to support her US debut album Sticks & Stones and announced Oath as the 2nd single. But a few months after in January, 2013 the song was announced as the 3rd single from the US release.
