MAROON 5
May 25, 2015
Maroon 5 recently premiered their latest single, "Summer's Gonna Hurt" on The Voice. In the song, front-man Adam Levine confronts a girl who has become too self-involved. The song will appear on their upcoming deluxe edition of their 2014 album "V". The track features a thick beat and plays off the synth-pop sound Maroon 5 have been experimenting with on past records. Since the release of "V", the album has spawned the hits, "Maps," "Animals" and most recently "Sugar". They have all reached the Top Ten on the Billboard Hot 100.
"I see her when I go to sleep. I check my phone when I am weak, "Levine sings in the pre-chorus of "Summer's Gonna Hurt". "She never posts anything deep, cause she's so fancy."
Since forming in 1994, Maroon 5 has released 5 full-length studio albums and they have sold more than 23 million albums and 109 million singles worldwide. Their current line-up includes Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, James Valentine, Matt Flynn and PJ Morton. After signing up with Octone Records, they released their major label debut album "Songs About Jane" in 2002. They went on to win the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005. In 2007, they released their second album, "It Won't Be Soon Before Long". The album reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart and the lead single, "Makes Me Wonder", became the band's first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. Their third studio album "Hands All Over" was released in 2011 and it included the hit single "Moves like Jagger". The band released their fourth album, "Overexposed" in 2012. All four singles of the album were highly successful on the Billboard Hot 100.
Maroon 5 started their new worldwide tour in February 2015 and it is scheduled to take place in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania and last until September 2015. MAGIC!, Rozzi Crane, Nick Gardner and Dirty Loops will serve as opening acts.
