WDZH's Rainey & Slacker Watch Tiger's Season End
It was a sad day at Comerica Park on Sunday (10/5) for Detroit baseball fans as the Baltimore Orioles swept their ALDS with a 2-1 victory over the Tigers. The game was broadcast on TBS. There was a crucial moment in the 9th inning, with the Orioles ahead 2-0 and Tigers' JD Martinez at bat, with one man at second. The cameras showed the crowd, zooming in on none other than CBS Top 40 WDZH (98.7 AMP RADIO) PD Tim Rainey and MD/afternoon host Slacker (looking tense with his Tiger Towel clenched between his teeth). Martinez hit a fly ball to center that gave him a double, and the team their only run of the game. We can assume Slacker used his towel shortly afterward to wipe back the tears when Orioles' closer Zach Britton got pinch hitter Hernan Perez to ground into a double play to end the game and the year for his beloved team.
