Katy Perry

Katy Perry's newest single, "Rise" was created with the Olympics in mind, as it will be the official anthem for NBC's coverage of the 2016 Summer Olympics. The song was written by Savan Kotecha and Perry and produced by Max Martin and Ali Payami. The track is naturally encouraging and powerful with lyrics highlighting victory and rising above one's opponents. Your ears will be treated to a mid-tempo, electronic, trap-ish beat that will surely get your blood pumping!
Katy noted that "Rise" has been brewing inside of her for years and has finally surfaced. She wanted to release it as a standalone track instead of including it on an album, "because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite."
NBC commented on the track saying," its message spoke directly to the spirit of the Olympics and its athletes for its inspirational themes."
Katy Perry is one of the best-selling musical artists of all time. She began her career as a gospel singer. It wasn't until 2008 that Katy rose to fame after adopting her stage name, "Katy Perry", and signing a record deal with Capitol Records. She has gained notoriety with hit singles like "I Kissed a Girl" ,"Hot n Cold", "California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T.", and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)". Katy has an autobiographical documentary titled Katy Perry: Part of Me, and has also been featured as a Smurfette in the film, The Smurfs.
