Jun 19, 2017
British trio London Grammar -- Hannah Reid, Dan Rothman and Dominic 'Dot' Major -- has just released their sophomore album, The Truth Is A Beautiful Thing. The project continues the evolution of the trio’s classical roots tempered by modern electronic vibes.
The Truth Is A Beautiful Things found the act working with a number of producers including Paul Epworth, Jon Hokins and Greg Kurstin, as well as Tim Bran and Roy Kerr, who also worked on the band’s debut, If You Wait. Standout tracks include “Oh Woman Oh Man,“ "Hell To The Liars, “Everyone Else," the title track and the deluxe version has a great live take on “Bitter Sweet Symphony.”
“I think we just had to re-find being a band again,” Reid said in a recent interview in The Guardian. “All three of us had changed a lot as musicians over the years. So we didn’t really sort of speak about it – we just kind of did it”.
With If You Wait, London Grammar won the prestigious Ivor Novello Award, two AIM Independent Music awards and a Brit Award nomination. If You Wait has sold almost two million copies worldwide.
The band has a few dated in North America in August:
8/01 Brooklyn Steel, Brooklyn, NY
8/03 Danforth Music Hall, Toronto
8/04 Osheaga Festival, Montreal
8/06 Lollapalooza Festival, Chicago
