The Decemberists
Mar 16, 2018

The Decemberists have decided to explore new sounds on their eighth studio album, I’ll Be Your Girl. Produced by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Lana del Rey), the project shows new areas of influence and a desire to lyrically refer to the current times in which we live.
In addition the hit, “Severed,” others songs that reveal the bands fresh approach include “Once In My Life,” “Starwatcher,” “Sucker’s Prayer,” ”Tripping Alone” and “We All Die Young.”
“When you’ve been a band for 17 years, inevitably there are habits you fall into,” says front man Colin Meloy. “So, our ambition this time was really just to get out of our comfort zone. That’s what prompted working with a different producer and using a different studio. We wanted to free ourselves from old patterns and give ourselves permission to try something different.”
I’ll Be Your Girl will be released on many formats, including 180gm vinyl LPs in various colors, CD, cassette, digital download, and a deluxe edition box dubbed I’ll Be Your Girl: The Exploded Version.
They will be touring extensively this spring and summer, including headlining their own Traveler’s Rest Festival, Boston Calling and Mountain Jam.
