Anderson East
Aug 20, 2021
Athens, AL’s favorite son Anderson East – now based in Nashville – has taken a slight step in a different musical direction from his first two studio albums -- Delilah and Encore. There’s a little less of the rootsy Americana side and more of the deep soulful realm of desire, love, loss and heartache on his new album, Maybe We Never Die, which was produced by Dave Cobb and East’s band leader, Philip Towns.
In addition to the first single “Madelyn,” several other standouts include “Hood Of My Car” [check out the video], “Interstellar Outer Space,” “Drugs,” “Jet Black Pontiac,” “You – I” and the title track.
East recently told Alabama.com, “You play music for so long and there’s only so many times you can play the same chords on a guitar and expect different outcomes. I definitely think we reached out quite a bit sonically on this, but I think there’s still enough footing in what’s kind of always been there, that thread that ties it all together.”
East has been featured on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," CBS' "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and "CBS This Morning Saturday," NBC's "TODAY" and "Late Night with Seth Meyers," PBS' "Austin City Limits" and more.
