2 Chainz is off and running again with the release of his new single, “Proud,” teased from his new EP, “The Play Don’t Care Who Makes It”. The song features rappers YG & Offset and released through Def Jam Records. After having just released his successful “Pretty Girls Like Trap Music” record in 2017, 2 Chainz is clearly on a roll. In the song, he boldly shares his intentions behind his unwavering motivation as he raps, “I’m just tryna make my momma proud.”
2 Chainz first gained recognition for the role he played in the hip hop duo Playaz Circle with rapper Earl "Dolla Boy" Conyers. The two were signed to Ludacris' label "Disturbing tha Peace", and made it big with their hit single entitled, “Duffle Bag Boy".
In 2012, 2 Chainz signed to Def Jam Recordings as a solo artist. That same year he released his debut studio album entitled, "Based on a T.R.U. Story". The album produced hit singles: "No Lie," "Birthday Song "and" I'm Different". In 2013, he released his second studio album entitled, "B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time" with the singles "Feds Watching", "Where U Been?", and "Used 2".
