Recording artist & producer Soufside, Columbus, Ms native born Bobby Colvin Jr seems to have arrived to national airwaves overnight from obscurity with his single "Hello" spreading like wildfire and jumping onto the charts, but ask him and he'd tell you that his arrival has been years in the making. "I've been musically inclined all my life, but my journey to the forefront of the music industry began around 2004-2005" says Soufside, "I began recording with a couple of my partners from my neighborhood, and realized from the jump that I wasn't meant to be in a group." In 2006 while attending college in Jackson, Ms on a football scholarship, Soufside began to record as a solo artist & his first single "So Fresh That It's Ugly" although only having marginal local impact, it gained the attention of a few local Djs & radio personalities, as well as UTFO's Legendary DJ, Mix Master Ice, a hip hop icon, which encouraged him to take music serious.
In 2007 Soufside left college and moved to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue his music endeavors, but that dream was cut short after only 7 months in Atlanta he was involved in an accident that sent him back to Mississippi. "I believe that accident was a gift & a curse, because true enough I was in the right place to make things happen but at the same time, my music had taken a back seat to everything else I was involved in, & it forced me to replan & refocus.
In July of 2009 he finally released his first solo project,"The Hood's Hope", charged by the mixtape favorites "Handle YaBizness" &the single "She's A Star" featuring former 35*35 Entertainment/Universal Fontana artist J-Money and Atlanta R&B artist TJ Writa. By September of 09 the single would catch the ear of Clarence Weatherspoon former NBA Player& CEO of 35*35 Entertainment.
In November of 2009, Soufside would join the 35*35 Entertainment rosters as an artist. After 2 radio singles & a little time to adjust to his current situation, Soufside now finds himself on the national stage with his first official single "HELLO" spinning all over the country, & his current single "Do What I Do" picking up steam with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
