Avid Dancer

From the first note of Avid Dancer's I Want To See You Dance EP, it's clear that Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Jacob Dillan Summers has crafted something special. His debut album, 1st Bath will be out April 14th via Grand Jury/INgrooves with a full band featuring members of Hanni El Khatib. In four short tracks, he combines aspects of pop and psychedelic rock, and delivers a breezy indie gem. The lead single from this collection is entitled "I Want To See You Dance."
Summers was raised in a very strict Christian household and therefore, it wasn't until his late teens when he branched out into secular music. He eventually joined the Marines, became a champion drumline dummer and then moved from Anchorage to Los Angeles to pursue his own music. There was considerable Internet hype surrounding his first single "Stop Playing With My Heart."
Avid Dancer has toured with several big-name artists like Hamilton Leithauser, Kopecky Family Band, Cold War Kids, and Warpaint in 2014. They will playing a month-long Los Angeles residency in 2015 and full details about this will be announced later through the band's website. Then they will perform at SXSW in March.
