Sadly, they still exist. The rift between programming and sales, that is. No? Not in YOUR house?
Do your Sales Manager and Program Director meet or even speak much without you setting a meeting?
When was the last time your Program Director genuinely created a programming feature, sponsorship, or anything else to help drive sales?
If you're oversold and you need five extra units the last week of the month to clear what was sold, do you have to get involved or do your GSM and PD work it out themselves?
When was the last time your sales manager or any AEs did something genuinely nice for the PD or air staff?
Answer these honestly and you might just have to do a little work here. When everyone understands the mission, the better the likelihood that you will achieve your goals. More on that tomorrow...
