I have always required my PDs to program the station every minute of every day.
Yes, we install a format, we build a plan and hopefully, execute it soundly. But...
What you doing to seize the moment every day?
Is your PD on top of major news stories? Who's on top of what's trending on Twitter? Who's finding viral videos off of YouTube? Did you link to them from your site? Did your morning show air some of the parody audio? Maybe it's not "right" for your format, but you get the idea.
Tax Day is exactly one week away. Cliché for radio, I know, but if you do something a little more clever than the other guy, you just might get TV coverage ... or at the very least, do something solid for your listeners. More on that tomorrow…
