We often over-think everything.
A former Director of Sales with whom I worked lived by a mantra he called RELENTLESS. He has it prominently posted in his office and even got customized license tags for his car that read RELNTLES.
There are three key points for him and his staff:
- KNOW THEIR BUSINESS
- KNOW YOUR STUFF
- MAKE FIVE CALLS A DAY
When you break it down, what else matters?
Know their business! (don't go in blind, learn everything you can about your prospects business and industry)
Know your stuff! (know everything you should about what you can offer your prospect and the many tactical applications you can mobilize for a potential client)
Make Five Calls A Day! (Duh. Go see people. Lots of people.)
And quit over-thinking everything!
