Your tax dollars at work:
The federal government revealed yesterday that Social Security is on its way to drying up in the year 2033.
That's three years earlier than previously believed. The weak economy combined with a massive group of aging baby boomers is sucking up the fund, which lawmakers have not made a move to try and fix.
Medicare is said to be insolvent by the year 2024, unchanged from its previous expiration date.
Higher energy costs and fewer hours worked are also contributing to Social Security's path towards insolvency, and government officials said that Congress must act drastically to save both it and Medicare. (Maiman)

Can you imagine doing (ahem) "the nasty" in front of your parents? ZAC EFRON tells AbsoluteNow.com he took his mom to the premiere of "The Lucky One" and admits watching love scenes with her was just plain awkward! Luckily, she's got a sense of humor, was bursting with pride at the end of the screening and is her baby boy's biggest fan. (Lee)
Did JULIA ROBERTS have an eating disorder in the 90's? Star magazine reports that director GARRY MARSHALL wrote in his memoir "My Happy Days in Hollywood" that the actress passed out on the set of "Pretty Woman" because all she ate that day was half an avocado. (Myers)
DUCHESS KATE MIDDLETON's beautician says she used a bee venom face mask on her to prepare for the Royal Wedding last year. In an exhaustive story (Almost two thousand words? Really?) in The Daily Mail they detail how her stepmum –in-law, CAMILLA, the Duchess of Cornwall, turned her on to the skin care product. The Heaven Bee Venom face mask claims to plump, lift and firm the look of your skin. They also claim VICTORIA BECKHAM and MICHELLE PFEIFFER as clients. You can get it online for about $71 U-S dollars.
Editor's note: Seventy bucks to smear bee venom on my face? Only if it comes with an Epi-Pen.(Bartha)
