Sick bay:
Radio geeks from coast-to-coast will be heartbroken to hear that CASEY KASEM isn't doing well. TMZ.com reports the legendary jock is in "dire condition" and his wife, JEAN, will not allow his three children to visit their dying father. Apparently KERRI, JULIE and MIKE's stepmother called police yesterday after they picketed her home with signs begging to see dear old dad. Casey is 81 and suffers from advanced Parkinson's disease. So, are Americans just stupid, or is the political propaganda just that clever?
Put it this way: If asked to pick between Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act, which would Americans choose?
Late-night host JIMMY KIMMEL sent a crew out into the streets again to find out just how misled and uninformed the American public is concerning the healthcare debate, and returned with some unfortunately unsurprising responses: People who chose the Affordable Care Act over Obamacare without realizing that they're synonyms for the exact same thing. (video)
In other words, Obamacare is the Affordable Care Act. And these people didn't know it.
And if you're under the impression that the Kimmel responses were hand-picked, you might take a look at this CNBC poll which found that 46 percent of Americans oppose Obamacare while only 37 percent oppose the Affordable Care Act.Look what I found:
When DUSTIN MOORE spotted his grandmother sitting casually on the front stoop of her house, he thought he was seeing things. After all, his grandma did pass away last year.
But thanks to a Google Street View photo, there she was, GRANDMA ALICE enjoying the morning paper outside her home in Portland, OR.
Turns out Google captured one of the last few pictures of Alice before she died and Dustin now feels that, so long as the photo remains, his grandma isn't truly gone.Grace notes:
Prog rock and "Star Trek" fans are in for a real treat. WILLIAM SHATNER will release a new album on October Eighth. It's called "Ponder The Mystery" and features the now 82-year-old Captain Kirk backed up by former YES keyboard master RICK WAKEMAN, guitarists STEVE VAI and AL Di MEOLA, EDGAR WINTER and others. Shatner will hit the road on October 23rd with a concert in Hermosa, California. His band for the tour is CIRCA which features ex-Yes members BILLY SHERWOOD and TONY KAYE. (Marino)
