Posturing, Posing, Polling and Press Releases:
DONALD TRUMP continues laughing. Despite controversial comments about AZ GOP Sen. JOHN McCAIN, he's leading the pack among Republican voters in a new, nationwide Washington Post/ABC News poll.
Trump's pulling 24-percent support among likely Republican voters, far ahead of WI Gov. SCOTT WALKER, who's second with 13-percent support. JEB BUSH is third with 12-percent.
And in a new Monmouth University poll of Republicans in Iowa, SCOTT WALKER has a 22-to-13-percent lead over Trump. (Pacelli)
Political Racket /Dirty Tricks:
The House is set to vote this week on a bill that would deny funding to "sanctuary cities" that have policies designed to shelter illegal immigrants from deportation. The move comes after the death of KATIE STEINLE in San Francisco at the hands of an illegal who'd been deported multiple times.
Steinle's father will testify today before the Senate Judiciary Committee, along with family members of other victims of crimes committed by people in the U.S. without documentation. (Pacelli)
Here's a shocker for 'ya --McDonald's is just as cool as In-n-Out and Starbucks and has their very own secret menu! Cosmopolitan magazine reports an assistant manager from the fast food giant let folks ask her anything on Reddit last week where she revealed that certain items weren't invented by the Golden Arches, but the McGangBang features a McChicken inside a McDouble while the Land, Air and Sea burger is a Big Mac, Filet-O-Fish and McChicken all stacked up. There's also the eight-patty Monster Mac for hearty appetites and a Mc10:35 that boasts an Egg McMuffin topped with beef. (Lee)
MARIAH CAREY decided to show off a small section of her shoe closet on Instagram over the weekend --24 shelves full of metallic gold stilettos! The 45-year-old diva captioned the jaw-dropping post with "Always my favorite room in the house... #shoes #shoes #moreshoes." The highly organized, color-sorted shelves also showcased her extensive tall boot collection, which took up four shelves. The grand total --95 pairs of gleaming gold footwear were shown in just that one photo.
Editor's note: That comes to 190 individual shoes total, if you're curious... and only have a leg to stand on. (Bartha)

A sad story out of Florida where a man reportedly checked to see if his gun was loaded by pointing it at his head.
Police in Mims say CHARLES COOPER had been drinking with a female friend when he pulled out his gun. Another friend asked Cooper to check if there was a round in the chamber. That's when witnesses say he raised the gun to his head and pulled the trigger. Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene. (Still)
