Setting a good example:
Workers at a New Jersey day care center face charges for allegedly staging a kid version of "Fight Club."
Union County prosecutors say 22-year-old ERICA KENNY and 28-year-old CHANESE WHITE encouraged preschooler and kindergartners to fight at Lightbridge Academy in Cranford. The pair even allegedly referenced the film, "Fight Club," as they encouraged kids as young as four to throw each other to the ground and hit each other.
Investigators say the situation came to light after daycare workers allegedly posted videos of the fights to Snapchat. Prosecutor GRACE PARK says, "We don't believe there were any serious injuries at this point, but we are still investigating the case." Both employees have been fired. (Still)
Broadcast, cable and video news:
CBS TV says they'll be streaming two regular-season games and four playoff games, as well as Super Bowl 50 this year, so that you'll be able to watch the games on various mobile devices including laptops, tablets along with Xbox One, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku players and Roku TV models.
Variety reports the games will also be available for free at CBSSports.com, with no authentication of a subscription to a cable or satellite provider required.
The first regular season game will be the Oct 04 game between the New York Jets and the Miami Dolphins; the other game will be the Thanksgiving Day game between the Carolina Panthers and the Dallas Cowboys.
RICK ROSS will release a new album tomorrow. His eighth full-length effort is called "Black Dollar" with production by JUSTICE LEAGUE and 8 BARS. Rick dropped two albums last year, "Mastermind" and "Hood Billionaire." (Marino)
Idiots or Insane:
It's not uncommon for expectant mothers to give birth under water. But, this might be taking things too far.
Mom-to-be DORINA ROSIN of Hawaii's Big Island plans to use a midwife instead of a doctor. And, that midwife also happens to be a dolphin! Rosin, who's a spiritual healer, and her partner MAIKA SUNEAGLE plan to have a 'dolphin-assisted' birth. Basically, when she goes into labor, Rosin will venture into the sea and deliver her baby surrounded by dolphins. In fact, the couple says their unborn baby has already learned to speak dolphin in the womb.
Science journalist CHRISTIE WILCOX says the plan is "hands down, one of the worst natural birthing ideas anyone has ever had." (Still)
Students protest transgender student's bathroom use:
In Hillsboro, Missouri, nearly 200 students walked out of their classes to protest LILA PERRY, a senior, transgender student, being allowed to use the girls' bathroom.
Perry had not had gender reassignment surgery but was using the female bathroom to change for gym classes, a fact which upset the other girls at the school.
One mother of a Hillsboro High student told the St Louis Post Dispatch she objected to Perry being given what she asks for 'while the girls just have to suck it up'.
During the demonstration, Perry was locked in a staff member's office because there were fears for her safety.
