Survivor: real life:
It seems hard to believe but a lady in England got an entire crab stuck in her throat.
Okay, so it turns out the crab was a teeny tiny one. 19-year-old MEGAN TAYLOR was dining on garlic mussels from her favorite Chinese restaurant when the pebble-sized crustacean went down the wrong pipe. Just to be clear, tiny crabs aren't supposed to come with the dish. The woman managed to cough up the crab, but claims she almost choked to death in the process.
Taylor says her main complaint about the experience is that the restaurant didn't even offer an apology.
However, the owners of China Chef restaurant claim they did apologize and offered to refund the price of the meal and extend a 20-percent discount on Taylor's next order. (Still)Super Bowl Fashion Roundup:
The realreason we watch the Super Bowl:
--LADY GAGA's head-to-toe metallic red suit was a custom-made Gucci. Fashionista.com says she completed the patriotic ensemble with a blue manicure. (Hair was by The Goblin King.)
--According to the New York Times' "Styles" editor, on Twitter, BRUNO MARS' halftime show costume was by Versace.
--Vogue magazine says BEYONCE's half-time ensemble was designed to give a nod to JANET and MICHAEL JACKSON's halftime show performances-gone-by. And just about everyone noticed that Janet's "Wardrobe Malfunction" moment with JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE was left out of the halftime show montage. (Bartha)Grace notes:
BEYONCE surprised you with a new single on Saturday. It's called "Formation," and she did a bit of it during her halftime performance at the Super Bowl. You can download the song and the "dirty video" for free from Tidal, even if you don't have a subscription. "Formation" is all about black pride, and it's probably not a coincidence that Beyonce released it during Black History Month. Check out this line (quote), "I like my Negro nose with Jackson Five nostrils." Beyonce also announced a world tour last night. The 40-date Formation trek begins April 27th and she'll hit North America in June, playing nothing but stadiums. (Marino)
Broadcast, cable and video news:
For those of you who wanted to see it, Fox says they'll air a re-run of "Grease: Live" on Easter Sunday (Mar 27).
Ratings:
Pretty good ratings for Saturday night's Republican presidential primary debate on ABC --Nielsen reports the return of DONALD TRUMP helped pull in 13.2 million people, making it the network's largest non-sports audience on a Saturday in more than 14 years.
Over on NBC, ratings for "Saturday Night Live" --hosted by LARRY DAVID and featuring cameos by BERNIE SANDERS-- tied with the show hosted by TINA FEY and AMY POEHLER for second highest ratings of the season. -
