Grace notes:
It's the most expensive cassette tape ever sold! Billboard.com says the music retail site Discogs just sold a PRINCE cassette for a little over $4-thousand dollars. "The Versace Experience - Prelude 2 Gold" has 15 previously unreleased tracks and only a handful of the cassettes were handed out during Versace's presentation at Paris Fashion Week in 1995. Some of the songs wound up on Prince's album from that year, "The Gold Experience." (Marino)
On, off and way-off-Broadway:
Calling Colonel Mustard! Hasbro is working on a stage version of its board game, "Clue." Playbill.com says the script will be based on the 1985 movie version. The premiere production is set to come out of the Bucks County Playhouse in Pennsylvania in May of 2017, followed by a U.S. tour and then, Broadway. Hasbro also has a musical based on "Monopoly" in the works. (Marino)
Look what I found:
A father and his daughter found a massive rare white diamond in Arkansas.
DAN FREDERICK and his daughter LAUREN were visiting Crater of Diamonds State Park, looking for gems. They spotted something shimmering on the ground, picked it up, and discovered it was a 2.03-carat white diamond.
Park employee BETTY COORS says, "This is an example of a diamond that all park visitors dream of taking home." The pair hasn't yet decided what to do with the rock, nicknamed "The Lucky Diamond." (Still)Big Money, Big Problems:
The whole clown paranoia thing has taken another ugly turn.
The folks at McDonalds, whose figurehead is a clown named Ronald McDonald, have decided to limit his appearances because of the creepy clown sightings.
"McDonald's and franchisees in the local markets are mindful of the current climate around clown sightings in communities and as such are being thoughtful in respect to Ronald McDonald's participation in community events for the time being," spokeswoman TERRI HICKEY said in an emailed statement.
No word on whether Mayor McCheese will be taking over some of his appearances. -
