Broadcast, cable and video news:
Congrats to British actor HUGH LAURIE, who's getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this morning at 11:30 am (Pacific), appropriately in front of the Pig 'N Whistle British Pub at 6712 Hollywood Boulevard.
Of course, we all remember Hugh from his long-running series, "House," winning two Golden Globes and a couple of SAG Awards as well. STEPHEN FRY, with whom he partnered in a couple of BBC sketch shows in the 80s and 90s, will be speaking at the dedication. And it's good that he received such acclaim as "House," since he's also playing a doctor in his next series, "Chance," which premiered last Wed, Oct 19.TV Briefs:
LADY GAGA will be in the passenger seat for "Carpool Karaoke" on tonight's edition of CBS-TV's "The Late Late Show with JAMES CORDEN." The clip (already posted on YouTube) features her and Corden teaming up on "Bad Romance."

A woman in Ohio put up some Halloween decorations and became a viral web sensation.
AMANDA PIERSON turned her automatic garage door into what looks like the mouth of a giant monster, complete with eyes and teeth. Every time she opens and closes the garage door, it looks like the creature is chomping down. Pierson' Facebook video of the creation is racking up millions of views. (Still)Filling a need:

Going Geek-dot-com:
Pokémon Go is using Halloween to try and lure players back after it launched as this summer's biggest gaming fad. The game's maker, Niantic Labs, is launching its first-ever in-game event. It starts tomorrow (Wednesday) and runs through November 1st. If you play during the Halloween themed event, Pokémon Go players will earn more candy through regular activities or finding new characters. USA Todaysays "spookier" Pokémon characters will appear at a greater frequency during your Pokémon hunt So if you're missing Zubats, Drowsees and Gengars, now's your big chance! (Bartha)
