Congrats to KIM KARDASHIAN for passing California's first-year law students' exam --known as "the baby bar." It only took her four tries. Of course, many potential lawyers have had to take their state's bar exam... and many don't make it on their first try. As Kim put it, "For anyone who doesn't know my law school journey, know this wasn't easy or handed to me. I failed this exam three times in two years, but I got back up each time and studied harder and tried again until I did it!!!"
Question for your listeners: How many failed their first... second... or third time? FYI: The California exam has an overall success rate of about 20%. And for Kim, she'll still have to pass yet still another bar exam before graduation and that legal certification.
All those women who were victims of LARRY NASSAR’s sex abuse will receive part of the $380 million in his sex abuse settlement. That would include gold medalists like SIMONE BILES, ALY RAISMAN and McKAYLA MARONEY to start with --and there's reportedly around 260 more as well. That would give each woman around $1.4 million --if they can collect it from Nasser (who's spending the rest of his life in jail), USA Gymnastics and the US Olympics committee.
Whoops! SHERRI SHEPHERD, who was supposed to fill in as guest host for WENDY WILLIAMS on her show because Wendy is recovering from COVID-19, had a small problem --Sherri had to undergo emergency surgery for appendicitis! The good news is that Sherri is OK after her surgery and recovering nicely.
While we're on the COVID-19 subject, as of yesterday least 800,000 Americans have died to the coronavirus since the first death in Northern California in February of 2020. That's more than in any other nation, and more than the population of Boston, Washington, D.C., or Seattle. So far there's been nearly 50 million cases here since the pandemic began.
Could you spend a week without your cell phone? That's what HODA KOTB went thru for a week. She told the audience on yesterday's (Monday's) show that she went on a week-long "Wellness retreat" --where they took her phone away when she arrived. She told co-host JENNA BUSH HAGER yesterday she realized she is 'happier' without her phone --she now realizes how addicted people are to them-- and she plans on only using it for necessities.
You probably knew this was coming: Dr. OZ has had to give up his daily TV show because of his run for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania. But --his daughter, DAPHNE OZ, will be taking over the vacancy with a show called "The Good Dish." Daphne will be joined by "Top Chef" judge GAIL SIMMONS as well as "Next Food Star" winner JAMIKA PESSOA on the new show. Meanwhile, one of Dr. Oz's campaign aides said Oz would be shelling out some of his millions made from the talk show to do a multimillion-dollar ad buy for the campaign.
JENNIFER LOPEZ has a new movie coming out! "Marry Me," is a musical romantic comedy and it will be in theatres on February 11th, as well as debuting on Peacock because of the lack of people going to movie theatres during the pandemic.
