January is a time of fluctuating hope. Many resolutions have already gone by the wayside, only to be looked at again maybe in March. But, instead of looking at the loss, we need to focus on the gain. It's a fresh start, a new season, new fashion, foodie trends and kid activities. The post-holiday blues don't have to happen, and we certainly don't have to promote it. No matter what radio format you work on "positive and encouraging " works, as longs as it's cool, sincere and not cheesy. Think about how effective the comics still are. You can do a lot in one to four little squares just like The Family Circle, Garfield and my favorite -----
This is a time to keep it light, no one really wants to hear about getting ready for swim suit season yet.

No toys for baby, according to Alam, who writes for the Chicago Moms Blog. She says don't waste your money on expensive toys; babies are just as satisfied with keys, wooden spoons, and other safe home goods. Alam suggests real toys be introduced to toddlers. Just try getting Grandma to go along with this.
