Hello from the hair salon, DePasquale the Spa, that is. I'm in the chair processing or getting blonder as I say, and checking out all the She Prep that I can absorb. Between the stylists, support staff and clients this really is prep heaven. Just looking at the reclined feet at the rinse bowl I see Birkenstocks, Nike, Old Navy flip flops, Coach sandals and Uggs. Everyone sitting in a chair is on a mission to touch up, cover up, cut and get it all blown out. And their stylists are focused on that end result. The hairdresser/client relationship is special; anyone that affects a woman's appearance is revered, especially if they perform great work. Even though this place is packed, a feeling of serenity is formed by a staff that genuinely looks good, works well together, and treats their customer with respect and kindness with a professional approach. So think of yourself as the stylist and think about who you have sitting in your chair today, remembering how you can make her feel. And, when she says she only wants an inch off the back...she means it.

Insurance fraud is on the rise. Drivers unable to afford their car payments (especially the pricey versions) are torching their vehicles in remote locations, pushing them off cliffs, and sinking them in lakes with the hope that their insurance will pay for it. Nationwide, arson and vehicle fires have increased 27 percent in this year's first quarter. This is not an easy way out; it's a crime.Monday, May 21, 2012
