I'm traveling today to the Momentum radio conference in Orlando; this event surrounds Disney's Night of Joy and is put on by Christian Music Broadcasters (CBM). The amount of work that needs to be handled prior to a leaving the household and workplace is crazy. All work accounts must be handled ahead of schedule, as there needs to be coverage while I am away. Even though I had everything in order, I'm still sitting on a plane, ready to take off, with an email from a salespersons asking about a spot.
Household needs vary from food preparation to making sure the teenagers knows where the plunger is because the downstairs toilet has been temperamental lately. I usually leave packing to the last minute, and it never ceases to amaze me how many pair of shoes I really need to bring for just a few days. I'm a light packer and not a shoe fanatic, but I definitely need to bring my athletic shoes so I can workout, and I know I'll need my flip flops because I'll be using the pool. I need my daytime conference presenter pumps that go with all the dresses I'm bringing, and then I need a night shoe that will go with my skinny jeans, and suitable shoes that can be worn to a theme park. I have another sandal I'd like to shove in my suitcase too, but I'm practicing restraint. So, that's four pair of shoes for five days plus my clothes, accessories, curling iron, and what not, carefully packed into a carry on bag that fits in the overhead compartment.
Did it all fit ? Yes I did! See you in Orlando.

Always look at the family calendar when planning meals. Don't plan a meal that will take an hour to prepare for a day when you only have half an hour between getting home from work and getting a child to soccer practice. Plan something easy, like sandwiches, on busy nights so that you aren't spending a lot of precious time in the kitchen.• Get more She Prep at www.ShePrep.com
