If I had an apple, or a latte, or an extra 10 minutes of sleep for every minute I've spent on hold, waiting to speak to an insurance claims representative, I'd be well rested, highly caffeinated and full. These calls absorb so much time, I plan them for my lengthy commute. There's plenty of time to spend waiting while driving. Think I'm the only one that has formulated this plan? I'm not alone: three girlfriends recently offered me this tip without prodding. These women are all in 'the demo,' and in lieu of listening to their favorite station, they willingly choose to wait on hold to take care of housekeeping needs. So, in addition to a freezer full of ready to bake meals, and car detailing, she would also appreciate a personal assistant to handle all the crazy paperwork of life. And, maybe a shredder.
