I spent one slovenly afternoon with my girlfriend Kate and her dog Lily, in downtown historic Princeton. Kate's husband, Greg, is a physics professor a Princeton University. You can literally see the cogs turn in this guys head when he thinks. It was a real treat when he showed us the office where Einstein used to work. Kate is a professional artist turned dog lover after a major life event rocked her world. Her world shifted from creating artwork that she would show in prestigious galleries, to crafting high-end dog beds for pet boutiques. It's pretty amazing what this woman can do with a piece of fabric and a wine crate. I love that she was able to reinvent herself.
I find a lot of my girlfriends in their 40's are in the process of reinventing themselves too. Might I suggest a good form of show prep? Find in-demo woman bloggers from your area. The can be a great source of content, as they keep you in the know with what the demo is feeling, with the added local twist. More about that little dog Lily, tomorrow!
