"Story has a fever," read the text sent to me from my daughter. Story is the name of our cat, and he was burning up with an unexpected flu. A trip to the vet confirmed that yes, this cat had a fever of 105 degrees. The normal temperature for a cat is 100-101, a fact I'd probably not know otherwise. We took our warm cat home with his antibiotics and began to nurse him back to health, which definitely took some time. My daughters response was "now I know how you must feel when you need to take me to a sick visit at the doctor." And I thought cleaning out the litter box daily would be the life lesson. Meow.
