Hello from Charlotte, South Carolina. This is such a charming area, too bad I just spent the last three hours at the airport. I'm in town for a CMB board meeting and last night our group went to Mert's for Soul Food. Salmon cakes, chicken wings bigger than a newborn, chitlins and black -eyed peas were starring. And if you ever eat here you must get the sweet potato cake, yes I said cake. You'll want the banana pudding (so good Elvis would have cried), you'll want the peach cobbler and red velvet cake too. But trust me, this was on of the best ties of cake I've ever had in my life. And maybe even go here just for desert as the sweet stuff was better than the plated fare. Now I'm back at the airport. It took one hour to get through security and here I sit waiting to return to JFK airport. I wonder where everyone is going at 3:00 on a Thursday, it doesn't take this long to get through security in New York? I'll look at people and wonder where their travels will take them.I see women wearing sandals who are probably beach bound and others in knee high leather boots and trench coats. I'm not sure where they could be off to but the taking off and the putting back in of those boots is probably what's slowing down security. Note to self: get a known traveler number.
Its been said that shoes can really "make the woman", make her broke I think. Neiman Marcus in NYC has an entire block dedicated to their shoe department in Manhattan, it's even got it's own zip code. But mark my word, one hot shoe will bealways Old Navy flip flops, they are so reasonably priced many women buy a couple of different pair in fun colors. It tends to be a yearly ritual before beach season officially begins and ends.• Get more She Prep at www.ShePrep.com
