While flying to the All Access Worldwide Summit, I noticed the passenger next to me was watching A Star is Born, with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. She was about the age of my daughter, who scooped me up the night this movie opened so we could see it together. She was from Boston, and was headed to Los Angelo's to attend a family wedding, single, and loved her work in medicine. "You'll love this movie," I said to my neighbor.
Her Cheeto consumption during the movie had me pretty sure she was enjoying it. As we were departing the plane, I asked if she liked it, and she responded that she did not. When asked why she explained that she saw Bradley's character as being manipulative over Gaga. From my perspective, I thought the characters were 'in love.'
This shows the importance of personality, staying true to what you bring to the air, and to never assume you have the best angle on a topic. Be real, dig deeper, and let all the voices be heard. This will avoid the cliché ending no one really wants anyway. I'm @Bethbacall if you want to chat more.
