My sister has finished her Christmas shopping, and she’s not the only one. COVID has ushered a time of combined shopping deals and ample time to get the gifts ordered, wrap it, pack it, and put it away until Christmas Eve. My sister has been working from home since March, her house has benefited from slow workdays. She’s cleaned out every closet and drawer in the house to make room for Christmas gifts. But for as much as she’s purchased she’s donated twice that amount. Thrift stores, Goodwill, and the Salvation Army overfloweth with my sister’s gently used goods, including a new, unopened box of a LEGO Star Wars set. However…the Lego’s were meant to be a gift. A happy accident for someone else! Seeking stories about things people have accidentally donated or gave away could make for a good show topic. If you have the capacity and the wherewithal, start your shopping at your local thrift store. Or just yell what you want to purchase and a popup ad for it should appear somewhere on your social media.
