1) How would you describe your first radio gig?
My first gig was on-air back in 1986, and I was giddy little kid in a candy store. I just wanted more.
2) What led you to a career in radio?
I have a family member who was in radio in the 80's working for WHN in New York. I flew in for a visit, toured the station and was hooked.
3) It's our 10th anniversary this year. What were you doing 10 years ago?
10 years ago, I was employed here with CKEY. Back then we were a Modern Rocker called "The Planet."
4) What would you like to be doing 10 years from now?
Hopefully still radio. Really it's all I know..
5) You've got Canadian radio and US radio signals to contend with. Must make for an interesting radio market. How would you describe it?
In my humble opinion, it's THE most competitive radio market in North America. At any given time, 75 radio signals compete here. From Toronto to Hamilton and Buffalo, there are lots of stations, lots of formats, great talent and promotions. It makes for a fun day.
6) Who is your favorite air personality not on your staff and why do you like them?
John Derringer in Toronto. More than an announcer, John is a communicator. Can tackle any subject at anytime of the day, a real pro
7) What was your favorite station to listen to when you were a kid?
680 CFTR-AM/1050 CHUM Toronto
8) What is the one truth that has held constant throughout your career?
Treat people, the way you would expect to be treated.
9) Looking around your office, desk, walls, etc. ... how would you describe your working space?
Let's just say it's a work in progress.
10) We've all got that one special song that's in our DNA. It stops us in our tracks and causes us to crank it up and block out the world. What's yours?
I'd have to go back to the 80's for Level 42, "Leaving Me Now."
