Robert "ODM" Guiterrez
former morning host
KGGI/Riverside, CA
What do you feel the pandemic has taught you about yourself?
How strong my hustle is to keep a roof over my family's head. The pandemic affected a lot of families in all angles and we were blessed to push through and keep thriving.Bootleg Kev
Host
Syndicated "The Bootleg Kev Show"
What made you look to syndication?
Syndication was something I always wanted to get into. It was something I had been plotting with Brian Samson for some years, and in January of 2020 when iHeart launched their Format Center program, I really realized that it was the direction I needed to turn my radio career to if I wanted to not only set myself up for even more longevity in the business, but also monetarily put myself in the best position. I appreciate United Stations for signing off on my show before we had a single affiliate, and of course Doc Wynter, DJ A-Oh, DJ Complex, Big Bear, Mambo, Jonathan Steele, Orlando Davis, DJ Amen, Rob Morris, and Reno Media Group for believing in the show EARLY!Kiona Lewis
Sr. Dir./Rhythm Radio
Warner Records
Has a particular artist stood out to you for their professionalism and perhaps their treatment of fans?
There isn't any one particular artist that comes to mind right now, but there's a level of respect I have for artists with all that they do and must endure, at times. It's not always easy to be 'on' all the time, whilst being pulled in a million different directions by a multitude of people. I salute those who remain humble and respectful while pursuing their obligations and passions.Hector "DJ CO1" Minjarez
APD/On-Air
KXQQ (Q100.5)/Las Vegas
First advice that you'd give to someone relocating to Las Vegas?
If you are relocating to Vegas, be ready to network! Oh, and yes, get ready to enjoy the blazing hot summers.Big Stress

WWKX (Hot 106)/Providence, RI
What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?
At first, I wanted to become a firefighter, but as a kid in the mid-80s to early 90s..Hip Hop took over and being a DJ was my true path.Marc "Nailz" Dixon
former APD/personality
WCKX (Power 107.5/106.3)/Columbus, OH
Who are/were some of your radio mentors?
There are so many people I've learned from. Many I still call or text for advice to this day! Glenn Horatio Walker, Larry Steele, Kevin Gardner, Stevie Demann of course! Just chatted with Jill Strada this week. I work in the same company as Derrick Baker again. I also work alongside Jay Dixon. Pio Ferro is super smart. Colby Colb is my SVP now and he's a book of knowledge too!Matt Hirt
Exec. Producer/Co-Host
Tino Cochino Radio
What got you into radio?
I used to do the morning announcements at my high school. Instead of just reading the announcements in a monotonous tone, I turned it into a "show". The KDON morning host at the time, Dr. Maimes, was on campus recording some audio and heard me. He invited me to hang in studio with him during his show, and that's where I caught the bug.Beto Perez

OM/PD
KLCA HD 2 (Swag 104.9) Reno, NV
What keeps you thinking and feeling young?
Coming to work every day and giving it your all. If, you are looking at the clock while at the station counting down 'til when you can go home you will not last long in your current gig. I blink and my day is over. I do a morning show, I am the PD of two contemporary stations, the OM of a cluster of (9), heavy production, promotions, and even sales.Alvin "A-Rich" Richardson
APD/Air Personality
WFFY (Fly 98.5) Ft. Myers, FL

What would you like to do better, professionally and/or personally as we move through 2022?
I'm excited for the challenge of taking on a new role and ready to make epic things happen. I'm a sponge right now taking it all in and learning from our format captains and regional programming leaders. I encourage label friends, old and new, to reach out and let me be the vessel to help connect your artist with our audience. Let's work!JusNik
former PD
WBHJ (95.7 Jamz)/Birmingham, AL
What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?
For years, music has always been an essential part of my life and form of therapy. As mentioned earlier, I've always wanted to be head of A&R at a major label, but it was only because I was too afraid of being in the spotlight. I grew up listening to icons like Angie Martinez and Wendy Williams. I wanted to be like them, but I was just too shy and timid.Toshamakia
APD/MD/personality
KQKS (KS1075)/Denver, CO
What got you into radio?
I was an artist prior to radio. That's what got me in. While on tour, I went to my home state, Connecticut, for a radio interview at a new station at that time, WZMX Hot 93.7. After my interview I was offered a position. Victor Starr, who was PD at the time, said I had a great personality and told me if I ever thought a radio to give him a ring. I went back on tour, thought about it, came back later, trained and have been obsessed ever since.Gino Flores
OM/PD/mornings
KZFM (Hot Z95)/Corpus Christi, TX
If you weren't in radio, what do you think you'd be doing professionally?
I've thought about that many times. I really wanted to be an attorney. Maybe that's why I love a good debate so much.THROWBACK 10 Questions from Spring 2012

APD/Personality
KSEQ (Q97.1)/Fresno, CA
What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?
Having a dad who was a California Highway Patrolman, I assumed I'd grow up to be a cop. I would've been the BEST cop! But my "dream" was that I'd be holding a microphone, a steel chair, or a championship in a WWE ring.Deanna Regalado
middays
KZCE (101.1 The Bounce)/Phoenix, AZ
Your biggest adjustment moving from Denver to Phoenix?
The biggest change has been going from a hectic social calendar and being on the go constantly to being able to go home and have no commitments. It's actually pretty nice! But as I learn the city and make connections it will be nice to build my social calendar back up.Senen "Slim" Rodriguez
PD
KJHM (Jammin 101.5)/Denver, CO
What would probably surprise most people about Denver?
Well, if you're new here...maybe the fact that its 82 degrees on Tuesday, snows on a Wednesday, and is 90 on Friday. And that's in May.Matthew "Doughboy" Florence
PD/mornings
KWWV (Wild 106.1)/San Luis Obispo, CA
Who plays Matthew "Doughboy" Florence in a Netflix series?

former mornings co-host/now afternoons
KDGS (Power 93.5)/Wichita, KS
How does one get from Southern California to Wichita?
When you're a kid, you gotta go where the parents go. My mom wanted to be closer to her side of the family in Kansas. I loved it though…from busy sidewalks and city chaos to lots of grass and open space to ride my bike.Chris Harris

PD/mornings
WMBX/West Palm Beach, FL
What's the first advice you'd give to students interested in a career in radio?
Don't be arrogant, work hard and be available. Constantly work on your craft and air check yourself. Think of ways to grow and improve. It is a competitive career, and you need to be able to separate yourself from the pack. If you have passion and a good work ethic, you can go far.Jeff Bayani
Promotions Dir./middays
KWIN/Stockton, CA
You're virtually a local. How does it feel to be on the air where you grew up?
It's priceless! It's cool to know that my family and friends I grew up with can listen to my show and relate to all the great things I can talk about in our city.Erika Navarijo
APD/Morning Show Co-host, Middays

If you weren't in radio, what do you think you'd be doing professionally?
Something that involves kids. I love kids and would love having a job that allows me to be around them.Serina Perez
Morning co-host
Tino Cochino Radio
You're sharing the mic with three men on the show. Do you feel a responsibility to represent a woman's and mother's perspective on the show? Who's first to have your back?
Absolutely! Especially because society still has a double standard when it comes to women. So, by sharing my opinions and perspective, I always try to make sure I'm not allowing that to slide. As far as who has my back first, well it depends who we are picking on that day! Lol But I would have to say Tino probably is the first to have my back.
Johnny O
CEO/Host
The Valley's Most Wanted
What gave you the impulse to start The Valley Most Wanted?
The housing market crash of 2008. I had a friend that was moved by iHeart from Houston to Los Angeles which is a dream for most radio guys. Until he was let go just 6 months into his job due to 'downsizing'. and I knew it was just a matter of time before it happened to me. Luckily, I dodged those 'budget cut' bullets like Keanu Reeves in the Matrix and got plenty of time to launch my first streaming app 'Johnny O Radio', but then added five more apps including 'Valleys Most Wanted' to serve the Rio Grande Valley.Pablo Sato
Air Personality/Imaging
iHeartMedia/KSSX (Jam'n 95.7)/San Diego
How similar are San Diego and Hawaii as a place to live and work?
I've been fortunate to work with passionate people in both places. At the end of the day, both places are great spots to land. But I will say…one has better tacos, and one has free babysitting.Bianca Fort
MD/afternoons
KKUU/Palm Springs, CA
What's changed the most about being an air personality from when you started to now?
The biggest change for me personally is my confidence and how I present myself on air. I'm not so worried about what to talk about or how to present things. I just say what's on my mind and have fun with it.Sean "Sdot" Mascoll
Music PD and APD
SiriusXM FLY and SiriusXM The Heat
What would you like to do better as a programmer in 2023?
Expand my channel's presence on print and social media. Plus, other promotional outlets. I'm always thriving to increase followers and engagement.Steve Chavez
CEO
STRC Entertainment
What programming or research tool available to programmers now do you wish you had at your disposal as a programmer in 1999?
Honestly, I would say Spotify streams and YouTube views. Of course, we don't know how old the people are who are viewing or streaming, but it is a great look into what people in general are listening to. I tell people a lot that NOBODY does more research than Spotify and Apple. Those playlists are not just random songs that some guy in a NY or LA office is feeling. -
