BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:

1. Why has KMYZ been a successful Alternative station?
I have been blessed with being issued all the tools necessary to be successful. We did our research, followed it to the letter, and it's paid off.
2. You just had a huge Spring '08 Book. What were the highlights?
We are #1 18-34 persons, #1 18-34 Men, and surprisingly enough, #5 25-54 persons.
3. What would shock people the most about KMYZ?
How broad our music is. Our library is very diverse. Not only do you hear old school bands like The Ramones and The Violent Femmes, you also get a heavy dose of '90s alternative like Collective Soul, Tonic, and Third Eye Blind. When it comes to playing new music, you can hear stuff from Death Cab For Cutie all the way to Slipknot at night. We also play local bands.
4. In what ways has The Edge changed in the past year?
We've spent a lot of time and effort in getting the morning show focused. As they have gotten better, our station has gotten better.
5. What part of your job do you like best? Least?
My favorite part of the job is trying to figure out how to push the listener's buttons and make them listen longer. My least favorite thing here is the meetings. Everyone turns into a comedian and it causes them to run longer than they should.
6. What's one thing that would surprise many people to learn about you?
I'm just a country hick from Arkansas with one foot still in the trailer park.
7. What are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about doing right by the listener.
8. Of all the skills you have gained through the years, is there an area you'd like to improve?
Organization.
9. What has been your biggest career highlight?
Getting to be a program director overseas in Sydney, Australia.
10. Favorite artist you have met?
I'd have to say Shania Twain (for obvious reasons).
Bonus Questions
You love to cook. What is your specialty?
I make a world-class chocolate chip cookie!
