1. How did you become interested in radio?
Met the great sports broadcaster Jack Buck in an elevator at the age of 7 and became hooked.
2. What part of your job do you like best? Least?
The best-entertaining people, the least-the egos in this biz.
3. What led to KXNA's ratings success in the Fall '06 Book?
Great music, the best on-air talent in the market, and lifestyle-oriented promotions.
4. What would an outsider find most surprising about the Fayetteville market?
Just about everything that is available in a major market is available here thanks to the Wal-Mart home offices being in Bentonville. Northwest Arkansas is projected to be a top 100 market in the next 10 years or so.
5. Rundown your on-air line-up with a brief description of each jock?
The AMX in Morning Drive consists of myself, Brandon, and Bobbit -- very interactive and stunt oriented. In afternoons we have Roach whose show is a bachelor party over the air. Then we have Matt and Andrew who have been staples here since before I arrived.
6. What makes your station unique?
The on-air talent is unmatched in this market.
7. How has the station changed in the past year?
We have not really changed in the past three years. I think that consistent nature has been a factor in our success.
8. Fill in the blank: I can't make it through the day without _________?
Three shots of espresso, POW! I'm ready to go.
9. What is the one truth that has held constant throughout your career?
Don't step on anybody's toes on the way up and they won't step on your face on the way down.
10. What career path would you be following had it not been for this industry?
Writing.
