Saying Goodbye Is Rarely EasySaying goodbye can be painful and not the easiest thing to do. Think back to a time in your life when you had to say goodbye. Visualize where you were and how you felt. I faced two very difficult goodbyes within the same month… September 2017.
The first was at the bedside of my 95-year-old grandma whose body was finally failing. She was mostly unresponsive throughout the day. In the evening, I said goodbye and left my parent’s house. Later that night she passed away in my childhood bedroom.
At the end of the month, I left a job of nearly twelve years. It was a special place filled with people who worked tirelessly to help build and protect an amazing culture. Probably a once in a lifetime experience. Saying final goodbyes, walking out of the radio station, and pulling out of the parking lot one last time is something I’ll always remember.
