If you think that your radio job can be grueling at times, imagine what it takes to be a barber every single day. New customers. Repeat customers. Grouchy people. Standing for hours. Trying to meet the desires of the person sitting in your chair.
The saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” is used to describe how much an image is attention-capturing. Look at the image above. You see it, right? That’s the exact same customer and the exact same barber just years later. There’s no secret sauce or magic bullet for building lifelong fans (aka repeat customers). But you can try three things, especially on days where you feel inadequate or stagnant, to help inspire you.
- Serve listeners well.
- Build repeat customers.
- Create fans.
HERE’S THE TAKEAWAY
You’re bound to enjoy some type of success if you implement those three things with discipline and consistency. On top of that, knowing and living out your calling in the daily grind can help pull you through the not-so-fun days too.
