If you missed DON’T LEAVE THIS INGREDIENT OUT OF YOUR SHOW (PART 1) you may want to catch up here. This became a two-part series because I wanted to give you the opportunity to evaluate and have the five main ingredients of your radio show in mind for this week.
OPPOSITES ATTRACT
In 1990, Paula Abdul sang Opposites Attract. If you wanna take a trip down memory lane watch it here. Some other opposites that go well together are:
Sweet & Salty
Ebony & Ivory
Oli & Vinegar
Heart & Fun
Joy & GriefTHE MISSING INGREDIENT
You might not be offering listeners true depth of flavor if your radio show leans in the direction of salty with not much sweet. I would argue that it’s very important, if not imperative, to come alongside a listener by sharing your heart in meaningful conversations.
Recently, I shared this with one of the shows I coach, “The heart part of your show is growing deeper. Depth creates a more engaged listener… and a repeat listener. Engaging conversations lead to connections, connections to habits, and habits equal fans.”
HERES THE TAKEAWAY
Maybe the wacky, zany morning zoo shows have already stopped reading. But if you’re still here please consider this. You never know who is listening and what they’re going through. Your radio show isn’t brain surgery, but you may save a life. Let me know if you end up removing and/or adding an ingredient to your radio show.
After spending 25+ years working at some really great radio stations, Todd launched a coaching and consulting business, Beyond615.com, on March 15, 2021.
