1. Introduction/Synopsis

Marty: Social Club Misfits started in 2011 after we met at a radio station in South Florida. We were both doing music separately but came together to do a song and the rest just came together. We got the name social club from a movie called "a Bronx tale," the social club was a safe place where mobsters came together to talk. We wanted to make our music a place where we could have honest conversations about anything. We have a heart for misfits.

We have been independent for 4 years and now we have signed to Capitol CMG and we couldn't be happier.

2. What does a normal day at home look like for you?

Marty: I wake up and kiss my beautiful wife, I just got married! We usually have a meeting in the morning, or record music prepping for the new album coming out in the fall. We're really into serving at our church called Vous Church in Miami, FL.

Fern: I'm blessed to wake up to my family everyday & make music . I thank God for the opportunity to be a professional recording artist ...living out my dream!

3. What's the song that you just can't get out of your head right now?

Marty: Right now my favorite song is Loud places by Jamie XX. I love the sample in the back of the chorus that song inspires me!

4. How much do you travel, what are the challenges? How do you juggle life on the road with wanting to be home?

Marty: We travel a lot. I believe last year we traveled about 150 days, it was very busy. The hardest part is missing your family. I've missed birthdays, engagements, and other huge events because we were on the road. My family understands this won't be forever but it still hurts because those moments are important. For me I make sure that when I'm home I'm home, and when I'm working I'm working. It helps me give 100% no matter where I'm at.

Fern: We travel a lot. Leaving my family is always hard & missing them but I'm doing God's work and my family is committed to the challenge. I love them!

5. What Artist or Pastor has had the greatest impact on you?

Marty: My current pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr & Chris Durso. When I had a terrible church situation Rich Jr gave me a book called "Misfit" from Chris Durso, now those are some of our best friends. They mentor us from far and near and are always available.

Fern: Chris Durso, Rich Wilkerson Jr & Chad Veach. Since the beginning they have always took the time to be available. They have mentored us and just loved on us .

6. What's the last book you read?

Marty: the last book I read was Love and Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. It was the final book during our marriage counseling and talks about how women need love and men need respect. It's one of those books you don't think you need it until you read it and it makes sense. I loved reading it with my wife.

Fern: The purple cow by Malcolm Gladwell. At the time being an independent music group, the book really allowed me to tap into the wisdom of the tribe guru who taught us a lot of things on how to really build the brand

7. Funniest or most embarrassing moment on the road?

Marty: For me, once I jumped into the crowd and no one caught me. It was a packed show! I jumped and literally everyone moved, I hit the ground so hard and the worst part is there's video of it online!

Fern: The button on my jeans broke, my zipper kept going down so I'm continuously hoping that my shirt doesn't raise up when I'm performing. I had to keep going backstage and continuously zipping up my zipper, it was the worst and it was one of my best performances but I really couldn't move around haha.

8. Tell us about your latest project, "The Misfit Generation"

Marty: Well the misfit generation EP is about a generation we believe God is raising up. A generation that will change the face of Christianity. The message will stay the same but the method will look different. In every area of business or entertainment it's time for Christians to stand up and set the trends and influence a culture. This EP is a calling for a generation to raise the bar and set the standard.

Fern: The new EP is called the misfit generation, it covers an array of topics from life music has always been our main focus anything we've ever said on a song has happened we lived it. We have fans (misfits) that tell us how the music literally saved their life. That's all I needed to hear.

9. Person you'd most like to have a discussion with, living or dead.....Deities are excused from this question

Marty: I want to talk to Robin Williams, I was always a fan and to see him go was hard for me. I would love to have a conversation with him. He's a hilarious legend!

10. Favorite Bible Verse?

Marty: Favorite bible verse currently is 2 Tim 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline." I love it because when I'm afraid, I know it's not from God. We have a saying "everything you want is on the other side of fear" I believe we serve a super natural God and He is for me! This verse reminds me of what He has not given me and what He has, love power and a sound mind!

Fern: Romans 8:28 it describes how the Father takes the good and the bad and works it all together for the good of those who love Him. My life has been a roller coaster of both but I know God is working it out for me.

1. How & When did you become a believer?

Marty: When I was 18 I gave my life to Christ. I was invited by my friend and I went for the wrong reasons. It's funny how none of that mattered to God. He found me there and my life was changed! I went for girls but found grace!

Fern: Since a young guy, my father is a bishop and I'm a PK. It was after my prison sentence that I really dug in and realized what I had to do. I could run no longer.

2. What's the biggest "God moment" you've ever experienced? Personally or professionally, when has God shown up in a powerful way?

Marty: God always has a funny way of revealing himself through all the situations we have on the road. One time all the power went out and instead of doing music, we preached. It was powerful, it was like God said stop rapping and just talk to them and we did. We could've stopped the show came on when the power went on but instead we use that opportunity to give a message. It's more than just a concert.

Fern: My grandfather was on his death bed confessing that he really didn't have Christ in his heart and was concerned for his soul. He was on life support and could barely move or talk. I remember calling Marty and we prayed on the phone that the power of the Holy Spirit enter that room. 5 minutes later my mom calls to tell me he accepted the Lord, spoke it out of his own mouth. God gave my grandpa the grace to save his soul. Forever grateful .
