KEEY - Minneapolis - present - MD/Afternoons1) Congrats on your new gig at KEEY! You were in Top 40 before going Country - how has the transition been for you? Have you always liked Country music?
It has been AMAZING! I am living a dream right now. I grew up on Classic Rock, and sometime in 1996 I fell in love with Country music. When I did Top 40 the studio was quiet. Now my studio is ROCKING! I always have the music up REAL loud!
2) Your father was a musician, and you grew up playing gigs with him on occasion. What made you choose a career in radio instead of following in your dad's footsteps?
I can't sing! I'm okay at guitar, but not good enough. I'll stick with radio!
3) Did you ever have a band of your own? What kind of music did you enjoy playing as a kid?
I had garage bands. We played a lot of Rage Against The Machine, Green Day, Nirvana and stuff that was cool in the '90s.
4) When did you decide that you wanted to get into radio, and why?
It was my senior year in high school. I don't know why. But once I stared being on the radio I was a fan of the attention. I liked the LADIES! Now, I have three!
5) KEEY has a great reputation for developing hits- what are some of the new artists that you guys are high on?
The ones that have good music! :)
6) You and your wife, Kate, have two adorable little girls - Kennedy and Reese. What do you guys like to do together on those rare days off?
We are big fans of MOA (Mall Of America)! That thing is huge! It has got SO much to do, and the people-watching is UNBEATABLE!
7) We hear you are a big sports fanatic. What are some of your favorite teams that you follow? Have you bought an Adrian Peterson Minnesota Vikings jersey yet since you moved to Minneapolis?
Yeah, I've got a Peterson jersey. I'm from Pittsburgh, so I still cheer on the Steelers - but my true love is Michigan college football! I love my Wolverines!
8) What was the first concert you ever attended, and what are some of your favorite shows of all-time in any format?
My first show would have been Ted Nugent and Bad Company! I have always been a huge fan of Ted. I loved that show. Best show? Any show on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night at Jamboree In The Hills. It's a Country festival that I have gone to since I was 17.
9) What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
Shut up and listen! Let the listeners be the star!
10) This year you attended your very first Country Radio Seminar. How did it stack up to other industry events that you have been to? What were some of the highlights for you?
The Sony boat was AWESOME! I'm still in shock!
Bonus Questions
1) If you could trade places with someone for a day (industry or non-industry), who would it be and why?

2) What are you jamming to on your CD player or iPod right now?
I only wear my iPod to work out. Eric Church's new CD is in my CD player.
