A Job Fair
I’ve seen some hit-and-miss posts from talent and stations alerting the audience to people who are hiring. Like Entercom in Las Vegas. https://kxnt.radio.com/articles/news/which-companies-are-seeking-new-employees
What would be the next level would be a virtual job fair. Not just a link to Inetech where they’re hiring software engineers for the Y3K conversion but a video from Jim Lundberg explaining what they’re looking for, qualifications and requirements and maybe, hopefully, station-facilitated Skyped interviews. What’s the great thing you could ever give a listener? A job.
Houseparty
If you’re not using this yet, do. A lot of stations are using the app to connect people for happy hours and drinking events. Maybe one of the biggest NTR events in Radio is Amy’s Slumber Party at 93Q in Syracuse.
What if you did that but using Houseparty? Sell in sponsors, do martini mixing lessons, have music to dance to, and do it all safely in everyone’s individual homes.
Operation Gift Card
If you stick “operation” in front of pretty much anything, it elevates it a little. It’s a great prefix. Beasley in Tampa has branded their giftcard awareness program that way. https://995qyk.com/2020/03/19/operation-gift-card/#//
Driving Traffic To Clients Sites
93Q in Syracuse will be doing a virtual Easter Egg Hunt in two weeks. The idea would be to hide an egg on your site and an egg on each of nine clients sites. Go, search, find every egg, go to the entry form on your page and enter all the locations, ie: #6 at La Casita. The egg was in the bowl of chips in the Lunch Menu section
Cancellations
KS95 in the Twin Cities and 98.9 The Bull in Seattle have both posted lists and kept them updated of all the events in their markets that have been called off or postponed. This is a really good resource. https://989bull.com/event-cancellations/
For Those People Slowly Going Crazy At Home
JACK in Calgary has printable coloring sheets for kids.
KZIA in Cedar Rapids has a list of resources for parents with increasingly squirrely kids. http://www.kzia.com/give-the-kids-something-to-do/
And KSON in San Diego is doing “Stay Home, Stay Connected” prize packs. https://kson.radio.com/contest/enter-to-win-a-kson-stay-home-stay-connected-prize-pack#//
