National Night Out
It’s August 3rd this year in the U.S. and you should most definitely be connecting with law enforcement to see what their plans are, but also to be out at some of these neighborhood gatherings. This is from KJ-103 in Oklahoma City.
Heroes Night
Even before COVID, it would have been hard to mess up anything that honors vets, fire, police and EMTs. 93Q in Syracuse is partnering with a local ball club to have listeners nominate heroes to come out for a free night of baseball.
9/11 is a Saturday this year SO…that could be something for your station if there’s a game or event that evening.
A 9/11 Listener Parade
Very early in COVID with senior citizens confined to their long term health care facilities and their homes, a few stations organized parades of listeners who had decorated their vehicles, and they wound through town passed these places letting them know they hadn’t been forgotten.
This was on the news on Monday where a community created a parade past a 100 year-old WW2 veteran’s house. 100-Year Old WWII Veteran Gets Birthday Parade Surprise - YouTube
So…that could be another idea to table for Saturday September 11th: a parade around the market passed the homes of vets who you have been tipped to. And always with these things include clients and their business trucks and vans.
“Space Jam”
I think 98PXY was the first station to ever do a “image search” contest on the station site in conjunction with “Finding Nemo”. You had to find Nemo.
Here is a station that has hidden Lebron James on their page. Good luck! (tickets must be picked up during normal business hours) Find LeBron and win Space Jam tickets! | HOT 98.1 | WHZT-FM (hot981.com)
