$1000 Tip
This has been some pretty big news in the Country format: some anonymous artist dropped a $1000 tip for a Waffle House employee. Country Music Star Leaves $1,000 Tip For Mother Working A Double While Caring For Baby At Waffle House In North Carolina (musicmayhemmagazine.com)
Mark Allen with The Bull in Seattle reminds us that during COVID one of our strengths has been supporting local businesses. And one way to do that would be to have the morning show go out and drop a $100 tip once a week. Or…
Gas Fairy
I’ve seen this done four times when launching morning shows, or, in the case of the Terry, Bill and Steve show at Newcap in Edmonton, when a castmate returned.
It’s pretty simple:
- Your person dons a mask
- And a cape
- And goes up and two or three times a day and fills up a car with gas
- And hands them a card that they’d been FU’ed (filled up) by the Gas Fairy
- Makes a dramatic bow
- Dashes off
After 7-10 days, someone gets security cam footage of the person getting into a car in an alley, the station shares it on their social media, and one of the talent turns to the new person and exclaims, “That’s your car!”
And this always always gets press coverage.
Roll In The Dough
This was done at a WNBA game in Phoenix where the station had three minutes on the court in the middle of the game.
We got a few hundred dollars and dumped it in the center circle. Mostly ones but a few fives, tens and a twenty
Our five winners were perp walked out, having been wrapped head to foot in double sides tape. Their hands and arms were taped to their sides. On cue they were assisted as they were gentled helped down to a sitting position, a whistle blew and for 30 seconds they flopped around like a beached carp. The whistle blew, they were assisted to their feet and whatever stuck to them, they got to keep.
The WNBA rep said, “This is hands down the best thing I’ve seen or heard of.”
We’re always looking for “stuff” for our events. This is about to be done as “Sit On Your Ass And Get Some Cash”. Same concept but with the placement of the tape on the contests posterior.
