What The Blurg?

Something very unusual is happening in idyllic Peterborough, Ontario where inexplicably, between songs and spots on Freq 90.3, snippets of lyrics that include the word “Baby” have begun popping up.

Mask Game

One of the Hallmark contest methodologies has always been Match Game. You have a grid, you take a caller, they pick two numbers and the jock reveals what’s under them, ie: “Maroon 5” and “Pizza Ranch”. Listeners track guesses, and if you match two, you win it. Like tickets to Maroon 5 or dinner at Pizza Ranch. Done by KRST in Albuquerque as Kristmas Koncentration.

For Christmas last year, NOW in SFO did it with a grid of 100 stocking. But, you could also do it with a grid of masks. Pick two masks, the talent reveals what’s under them, and so on and etc. It could simply be matching two artists for whatever swag you have, or, clients products and services.

Mask Tasks

Radio has done good job of assigning tasks for people to do and post. Like, getting on TV holding a station banner.

Or decorating a sock for 5SOS tickets.

Or “Lick It For Tickets”.

What if you lobbed out a daily “task” to be performed wearing a mask, posted, hashtagged and shared. Like “eating spaghetti”. “Calling your grand parents.” “Doing the dishes.” “Bathing your dog.”

For a hopefully short time masks are back, but we may as well have some fun with them.
