With masks back for the foreseeable future, we may as well have some fun with this.

The oft-mentioned BEN-FM in Philadelphia was the first to ask people to show the world what kind of creative things that they had done to accessorize their face gear.

You could set the bar high and do categories and a gallery contest as “Maskerpieces”.

One of the stations had tied in with a local fire department that was going to be doing a memorial in honor of someone from that community who lost their life on that day in 2001. Because of COVID fears, it’s been cancelled and they’ll be doing something instead on the air and with their social media and site.

I’d be kind of ready with a fallback in case an event you were planning on being part of gets nixed.

I’d also have the radar up for local communities that plan to create a memorial. This one has been proposed, approved and is going forward on a lake in one of the Twin Cities suburbs.

This would also be a day to celebrate and enable volunteering. AmeriCorps is recognizing the date as a Date Of Service & Remembrance. If you decide to do on-line info and resources, volunteering opps would be great to include. 9/11 Day | AmeriCorps
