For Our Friends, The Car Dealers
As evidenced by social media, people seem to have gas on their minds. One of the things that stations have done during times of high gas prices is to have someone like, “Dave from our friends at McCluskey Motors” do tips on how to save mileage. And there are a lot of really simple ones. Video > Morning Show Interview.
The People Who Unbend Bended Fenders
One of the stations was able to bring some sizeable autobody money that wasn’t going to be spent on Radio, to Radio. And the idea they liked? Listeners reporting intersections where there are a higher than normal incidence of cars whacking each other. Here? Coming out of Walmart in Forest Lake. All. The. Time. We’ve done “slowest stop light in the market.” This would be a logical and sponsorable extension.
The Road To The Final Pour
LM Communications in Lexington DOES come up with some of the more original ideas. Like “Crocktober” and a bracket of crockpot dishes.
Kerri Smith shares this promotion that’s about to launch:
Beerman (our midday guy) is the one I've featured in the graphic.
"Cheers to Beer and the men and women who serve it! Hey it's Beerman - I don't think anyone knows more about beer than me so let's have some fun. This March I'm serving you a frothy new twist on the bracket challenge, so raise your glass to the Road to the Final Pour! 8 of Lexington's top bartenders go head to head in a bracket style competition to find central Kentucky's favorite bartender. Go to classicrock921fm.com to view the contestants' videos and vote on your favorite. It's the Road to the Final Pour!"
Food Truck Fights
As a company, Beasley does great bracket contests across-the-board. Last year ‘QYK in Tampa tested one with food trucks and it was their biggest to date. Great numbers off it. It’s back with 64 trucks vying for $15,000 in marketing from the station. VOTE: Tampa Bay Food Truck Fight (995qyk.com)
