Summer On Demand
We might have a new sumbrella 'somewhere'. It would be imaged almost as an ap. A constantly updated stream of events and prizing that the audience would have a hand in choosing/directing.
SATC2
From Chad Rufer at WINK in Ft. Myers:
Just talked to the regional Regal folks and they are finalizing up promotions. Looks like they will have around 50-100 comps for opening night (wed night/Thursday morning). I can't do Wed night because of another commitment, so we are doing Thursday night, and we have a 5 million dollar yacht that will hold 150 people and we're doing "Live Like Carrie". For $20 women can enjoy a 2 hour sunset cruise with dancing while SATC plays on the screens, enjoy food, cash bar, then disembark and head to the theater to see SATC-2. Working on a pair of Jimmy's and Manolo's to go with the boat.
Home Depot
A lot of you have gotten on the street niche of delivering cold drinks and ice cream to seasonal employees in the summer. At Newcap in Halifax, it was called The Road Crew. John Knox at FRED-FM has a home builder client who will sponsor these street hits. This has "Home Depot" written all over it.
"Ladies Drink Free Until Midnight!"
So, my friend Rochelle (Houston's only stripping legal professional) was in Las Vegas for a conference with another hot lawyer friend and boasted to me that in four nights out, they didn't have to pay for one drink. I noted that that was quite an accomplishment. She said "No. Not really. Men are fools." Can't really argue with that.
So pretty much every station does or HAS done the Ladies Night club gig. Free or discounted drinks for women. What if you did "BANG A Drink" night. Buy A Nice Girl A Drink. When guys enter the club, they get "Sucker Bucks" to be used only for buying women drinks. Me? As a fool? Knowing that drunk sweaty liquor pigs would be actually hitting on ME for free drinks; I'd be there in a heart beat.
